Markwayne Better Get With The Pogrom–I Mean “Program”

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the President is getting increasingly frustrated with DHS Secretary, Markwayne Mullin, over what the Journal calls “a series of off-message remarks . . . that have angered many of the President’s allies.”

For instance, in early August, Mullin had the audacity to point out that although immigration “steals American jobs is true in some industries, it’s not true for all industries.” Mullin went on to say that immigration might provide personnel who will staff the jobs that Americans don’t want. The remarks elicited howls (and I do mean “howls”) from such luminaries as Laura Loomer. (Get it? Loomer’s a “luminary”? Never mind.)

Loomer and her fellow miscreants viewed Mullin’s remarks as inconsistent with the goals of deporting as many immigrants as possible and reducing immigration numbers. The fact that Mullin was actually right that there are jobs that Americans simply don’t want is irrelevant. Jobs that Americans don’t want–such as providing home health care to grandma and harvesting crops–are jobs that simply aren’t necessary. Grandma can take care of herself or face the consequences. And who needs to harvest crops when data centers are going to pave over our farmland anyway?

In another example, Mullin irritated Trump by not giving him advance notice of Mullin’s decision to temporarily suspend most ICE vehicle stops after ICE officers shot and killed two motorists in the space of a week. The notion that Mullin might suspend vehicle stops in order to evaluate whether people were being killed unnecessarily is crazy in this Administration. After all, it could give people the entirely wrong and subversive impression that the Administration cares about the killing of innocent people and would actually like to reduce such unnecessary deaths. I can assure you that nothing could be further from the truth.

Speaking of unnecessary deaths, yet another thing that ticked off the President, according to the Wall Street Journal, was Mullin’s suggestion that the July 4th DC fireworks show (the biggliest, most polluting fireworks show EVER) should be postponed because of lightning. As you may recall, Trump even called out an unnamed person for making such an altogether prudent and therefore stupid suggestion. That person turns out to have been Markwayne Mullin.

How stupid can Markwayne be? To have called off the show would have frustrated the heck out of Trump and called into question the Administration’s carefully developed reputation for not giving a crap whether some heretofore-unknown innocent people live or die. Giving a crap about such matters is a sign of weakness. And anyway, what red-blooded American wouldn’t be proud to be killed by lightning in such circumstances? The show must go on, Patriots!

Markwayne, do you think Bobby K and Drunkin’ Pete Hegseth are trying to prevent unnecessary suffering and death? Do you think they let trivial things like facts and reality get in the way of service to their dear leader or inhibit their own perverse proclivities? Do you think they are worried about how granny is going to get the care she needs or about how farmers are going to harvest their crops or about how families are going to be able to afford the food they want to eat?

Come on, moron. Get with the program or get lost.
