The Times subhead goes on to say, “The President embraced Ken Paxton, a MAGA loyalist, over Senator John Cornyn, despite warnings from Republican leaders about Mr. Paxton’s history of scandal.”
I assume we’ll soon see a correction from the Times, stating that the sentence should have read, “The President embraced Ken Paxton, a MAGA loyalist, over Senator John Cornyn, because of warnings from Republican leaders about Mr. Paxton’s history of scandal.”
