In today’s print version of the New York Times, there is a great article (should I call it a “piece”?) by Sam Anderson about his colonoscopy. It brought back fond memories of “My Colonoscopy”–both my March 2009 blog post and the colonoscopy inspiring the blog post. (The blog post, but not the colonoscopy itself, can be found here.)
In gratitude, I sent Mr. Anderson an email that reads as follows:
“It’s nice to see that there are other people who appreciate the wonders of the humble, and widely disparaged, colonoscopy. Here for your reading pleasure (I hope) is a blog post about my colonoscopy, fittingly titled “My Colonoscopy” (March 2009).
“Like you, I am on the 10-year plan, which is sad, but then again I have discovered that, like love, there is nothing like the first one.
“Thanks for the great article!”
